Bridgerton, Netflix’s latest original hit TV series, hit the streaming service on Christmas Day, and it’s been a success ever since. There are so many reasons to fall in love with this show it’s almost impossible to pinpoint which one is the most alluring. It could be the attractive lead roles, the beautiful architecture, or the fancy parties. But if you’re a fashion lover like myself, then you were immediately drawn in by the beautiful costumes.

Bridgerton is set in 1813, and it follows Daphne Bridgerton, a woman in her early 20’s living in London, England, as she is preparing for courting season. It’s based on the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn. During one of the many balls, she runs into her older brother’s friend Simon Bassett, the Duke of Hastings. They spark a deal and pretend to date to attract more suitors for Daphne and to get Simon’s family off his back. Long story short it didn’t work, and the pair end up together.

Despite a tumultuous plot that sparks a rollercoaster of emotions for the viewer and characters alike, the one thing that remained consistent, calming, and downright breathtaking was the fashion. Here’s how to dress like Daphne Bridgerton with 10 Regency Era essentials.

1. Feminine Dresses

Daphne Bridgerton and the rest of the Bridgerton cast wore the most elegant dresses in Bridgerton. Although the show takes place during the Regency Period, I would still love to wear most of the outfits portrayed in the show today because they’re feminine and pretty. To get the Bridgerton aesthetic, pick up dresses with puff sleeves, high necks, satin, lace, and floral embroidery or patterns.

2. Corsets

The corset trend is popular lately, but during the Regency Period corsets were worn underneath a woman’s dress. We frequently saw Daphne and the other women in Bridgerton get laced into corsets by their maids before attending an event. Corsets may not be the most practical piece to own or wear today, but they are a fun statement piece to try out if you’re daring and definitely, a good way to channel vintage England fashion.

3. Gloves

The Bridgerton characters wore gloves at almost all the fancy events and parties they attended from my memory. Daphne frequently wore a white pair that reached up to her elbow when she attended day and evening parties with the Duke, as well as on her wedding day. If you’re not a fan of long gloves, you could give short lace ones a try!

4. Headbands

Headbands are a stylish way to modernize Daphne’s looks in Bridgerton. I don’t recall Daphne wearing headbands during the show, but if you want to dress like a princess and you don’t have a crown on hand, you could go for a padded headband or a piece of ribbon. Don’t worry, I’m sure Daphne would still approve!

5. Hair Accessories

Throughout the show, Daphne and the other women wore beautiful hair accessories in their hair. Ranging from ribbon to bows, the Bridgerton women always donned the most elaborate and feminine hairstyles. Try incorporating a pearl hair clip, a hair scarf, or a rhinestone beret in your hair if you want an elegant look inspired by Daphne.

6. Dainty Earrings

The jewelry in Bridgerton was minimalistic and elegant. Most of the earrings Daphne wore were little dangly pearl or gemstone earrings that matched her necklaces. I recommend picking up a pair of traditional pearl earrings or small dangle earrings to fit her aesthetic.

7. Elegant Necklaces

The necklaces in Bridgerton were both elegant and extra at the same thing. The first necklace that comes to mind is the one the prince gave Daphne upon spending time with her. Pearl or gemstone statement necklaces will do as well as ribbon or pearl chokers, dainty pearl or gold pendants, and cameo necklaces for the vintage feel.

8. Shawls

When the women first arrived at an event or headed home they usually had a shawl on. I vividly remember Daphne wearing a light blue shawl at one point during the show to match with her dresses. Shawls are practical and elegant with dresses, so this is a piece worth investing in.

9. Crown

Crowns are the number one signal of wealth and royalty, in my opinion. You can’t be a duchess without owning a crown! Daphne wore a crown to one of the many balls she attended, and it looked beautiful with her bejeweled dress. If you want to embrace your inner princess, add a crown to your Bridgerton-inspired looks.

10. Block Heels

I don’t know if the show ever focused on what shoes the women in Bridgerton wore, but I’d assume it was a pair of heels to go along with their ball gowns. Daphne wore a lot of beige, blue, and gold/silver in the show, so I would go with matching block heels in those colors. Amazon has the best selection for sure!
