The Brightest Brunette

Four Ways to Style Prints Featuring ChicWish Outfits

Experimenting with different types of fashion is my favorite part about styling outfits. One day I could be in a neutral black and white outfit, and the next day I could be wearing a floral dress with oversized puff sleeves because that’s who I am. This summer, I wanted to have fun with fashion as it has been my saving grace during 2020, and I’ve really gotten into prints. Staple pieces are great to have and wear on an everyday basis, but sometimes I want to wear something fun and eye-catching that will light up a room. Printed pieces usually have more than one color on them, so the styling opportunities are endless, and I could probably come up with at least five different ways to pair one skirt or dress. Chicwish is currently selling the most whimsical, creative printed pieces, and I’m so excited to partner with them again for a blog post. Here are four ways to style prints featuring Chicwish outfits!

About ChicWish

ChicWish is a retro, indie boutique that sells hand-selected pieces to their customers. The goal of the brand is to direct the younger generation to chic, vintage styles at an affordable price. Some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe have come from Chicwish, including this fabulous Carrie Bradshaw-inspired skirt that I wore to New York Fashion Week back in February.

The majority of my outfits are colorful and usually incorporate a print. I love to play around with fashion, and there’s no better way to do this than by wearing a printed piece. Spring and summer prints are my personal favorites because I love florals, fruit prints, leaf prints, and anything that is girly and has to do with nature. Chicwish sells plenty of floral and fruit print pieces, so I’m obsessed with the items they sent me this month! Prints are easy to pair with a neutral top or a bright color for a color block look. I prefer to keep my outfits simple and add a few accessories to dress up the look. All of these outfits will be added to my Instagram very soon if you’re interested in following me over there for more fashion inspiration! Now onto my printed outfits.

A Floral Print Skirt

As I mentioned earlier, I’m a fan of floral print. I love how girly and feminine it is and how easy it is to style with white pieces during the summer. Pink and pastel colors are my favorites, and floral prints usually include some of these colors. When I think of spring and summer, floral prints immediately come to mind. I love to style my floral prints with girly accessories such as statement earrings or a colorful handbag to bring out the colors in the piece. I find myself buying florals year after year and never tire of them. Florals are a staple piece in my wardrobe, and I can’t imagine going a season without them. Wear a white top to bring out the colors or add something colorful for a color block effect.

A Leaf Print Romper

Leaf print grew on me this year. Green is not a color I typically wear, but it brings out my eyes, so I decided to give it a try. This palm leave color is now one of my favorites and is perfect for both summer and fall. I love how simple a leaf print is and how tropical it looks. If I were going on vacation this summer, I would definitely bring this romper with me because it gives me all the beachy vibes. The leaf print on this romper is white, so it makes this outfit easy to style. You can’t go wrong with dark neutrals or bright colors depending on what your style is. I wear a little bit of both so I can see myself styling this look either way. For summer, I think your best bet is to keep the look light and beachy.

A Polkadot Dress

Polka dots are my vintage obsession. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved wearing anything with polka dots. Polka dots are timeless, classic, and elegant. I love to wear dresses with this print because it’s simple and doesn’t take away from the style of the dress. This dress is a peachy pink color, and it has white polka dots that look great with my skin tone. Polka dots are simple print, and I like to keep my outfits casual and effortless when I wear this print. Since this print is more subdued than other ones, you can get away with wearing bold colors or statement accessories to style the look. I think it would look best with heels or a shoe with a wedge and pearl accents.

A Mint Green Floral Dress

Mint green is my obsession this summer. I love pastel colors, and green brings out my eyes as I mentioned earlier in this post. Pink is usually my go-to color, but I’ve had fun experimenting with other colors during the warmer months. Florals are the perfect print for spring and summer, and this elegant dress is the best of both pastel and floral trends. Dresses that shape the body are usually more flattering and show off your curves. I love the length of midi dresses because I can wear them on a variety of occasions without worrying if my outfit is appropriate or not. You can’t go wrong with floral accessories and sandals to spice up the look.
