If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I love to try out all sorts of outfits. I don’t restrict myself to one type of style, so each season, I choose a different aesthetic to shape my Instagram feed around. During the summer, I love to wear lots of colors and flowers, so pastels immediately caught my eyes this year. This past spring, I did a pink theme, and I was able to easily transition into pink pastels along with light yellows, blues, purples, and greens. When ChicWish reached out about collaborating again, I knew I had to pick up some pastel pieces to style here on my blog.
About ChicWish
ChicWish is a retro, indie boutique that sells hand-selected pieces to their customers. The goal of the brand is to direct the younger generation to chic, vintage styles at an affordable price. Some of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe have come from Chicwish, including this fabulous Carrie Bradshaw-inspired skirt that I wore to New York Fashion Week back in February.
I love to wear as much white as possible during summer because it’s the prime season to wear it. Light colors compliment whites nicely, so I try to highlight all of my pastels with white shoes, bags, or earrings. I’m a lover of Pinterest, and I see trendy outfits with pastel cardigans and floral miniskirts each time I scroll through my home feed, so I couldn’t help but pick up some outfits like this for myself. The pastel trend is an ode to 90’s fashion and brings out the inner teenager in me. If you think you’re too old for this trend, then fear not because I found the perfect sophisticated pieces to change your mind. Now, let’s get into how to style pastels featuring ChicWish outfits!
Mint Green Pants
Mint green is one of my favorite pastel colors this summer. I love how simple the color is and how easily it pairs with neutral pieces such as white crop tops. My eyes are a similar shade of green, and it makes them pop, so it’s a nice accent for me. During the summer, it’s the ideal time to wear light, airy pants in fun colors at night when the temperature is a little cooler or if you plan to spend time indoors in air condition. You won’t sweat in either of these comfortable pants, and they’ll keep you looking stylish and chic. In the first look, I paired my High-Waisted Ribbed Pants in Mint with a white strapless crop top, white wedges, and a white square handbag.
In this second look, I paired my Sunny Days Wide-Leg Pants in Mint with a white crop top, rattan earrings, a straw bag, and white wedges. You can easily style these pants for casual work or school settings or dress them up for a night out. I prefer to wear them with wedges or a type of shoe with a little heel because they’re on the longer side and have wide legs. Styling them with a white or a black top is a fun way to combine a pastel color with a basic shade everyone owns. ChicWish sells them in several different colors too, so if you’re not a pastel person, then don’t worry! There are neutral options for you there as well.
A Purple Dress
Purple is on my radar this summer. It’s not a color I typically wear, but I can’t get enough purple this year, and I keep purchasing different variations of it. I love purple florals and eyelet patterns because they’re soft and girly, which is my current aesthetic. I love to wear dresses during the summer when it’s hot out because they’re comfortable and light, so I had to pick up this Zigzag Eyelet Floral Embroidered Flare Midi Dress in Lilac from Chicwish. If you’re hesitant to try out the girly style or don’t find yourself gravitating toward pastels, try something purple. Purple also looks good styled with black or white accessories or a pair of fancy wedges. In this look, I styled my dress with a pair of lace-up wedges and flower earrings.

A Yellow Dress
Yellow is a fun, happy color to wear during summer. I love to experiment with pastel and bright yellows because they bring out my summer tan and are fun to style with wedges and statement earrings. Yellow is a color that carries over to different seasons nicely, and I can see myself wearing the Zigzag Eyelet Floral Embroidered Flare Midi Dress in Mustardduring the fall too. Yellow shades look nice when paired with other pastels or with whites. I also love the look of yellow with denim, so I recommend pairing pastel yellow with a denim jacket or shorts. In this look, I paired my dress with beige platform wedges and gold star earrings.
A White and Yellow Dress
I completely understand that not everyone likes wearing color. It’s practical to wear a mix of neutrals and colors, so this dress is the ideal combination for me. I love that it’s a lightweight white dress with puff sleeves, but it also has yellow embroidery detailing for a pop of color. I love to wear yellow during the summertime because it’s a bright color and perfect to style during the warmer weather. If you’re not a huge fan of yellow, trying wearing something more subtle such as this Wildflowers Embroidered Puff Sleeves Dolly Dress in White. You can still get your pastel fix while wearing a neutral color that is easy to style and matches everything.
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope this post helps you style your pastel clothing.
