As August ends, the annual Lilly Pulitzer After-Party Sale gets closer and closer. Out of all the summer sales, this is by far one of the best. Clothing that usually retails for 100+ goes on sale to the general public for reasonable prices, anywhere from $15 or higher. If you’re not familiar with the sale, Lilly has two major sales each year. One takes place at the beginning of the year in and the other is usually in August. For helpful tips and tricks, check out this post I wrote in January. Since Lilly is expensive and doesn’t go on sale otherwise, it’s best to take full advantage of these promotions if you enjoy the brand.
With prices this good, the sale can be a little overwhelming. It’s easy to lose yourself in the sea of pages or get distracted by all of the different options. However, just being things because they are one sale is not actually saving you money. It’s best to go into a promotion like this with a plan of action in mind so you get in and out fairly quickly without doing too much damage to your bank account. Here are some of the items I have purchased in the past and the things I recommend buying during the sale.
Elsa tops are easily one of Lilly’s most popular items. They retail for around $160 but during the sale are much cheaper, probably around $90. These tops come in a variety of different bright prints and solid colors, so they’re perfect for a dinner date or a business event depending on the look you’re hoping to achieve. They’re also very lightweight and comfortable, which makes them ideal for all times of year.

This is the item I’m hoping to purchase this year. Leggings usually retail for around $125, but during the sale, you can purchase Lilly leggings for around $60. I love all the bright prints and colors they come in, and I think they would be a fun piece to wear to the gym or to relax in at home.

I purchased a popover during the Lilly sale in January and absolutely love it. It’s the perfect top for a colder day and pairs well with all of Lilly’s leggings and shorts. These normally retail for around $130+ and I got mine for around $50 during the sale.

Lilly shorts are by far one of my most favorite items. Since the prints have so many colors, I pair them with all types of shirts, from t-shirts to fancy tops. They are a great basic piece to own since they match so many pieces in my closet. They usually retail for around $68, but during the sale you can purchase Lilly shorts for around $25.

I’m also interested in buying a new shift dress during the sale this year. Shift dresses are one of Lilly’s most expensive items and sell for around $200+. During the sale, you can find some for as low as $75. These dresses are such a classic, iconic Lilly piece and look very flattering on all body types.

Recently, Lilly has been releasing new dresses with lace, embroidery or beading. These are much different than the classic, bright printed dresses but are just as beautiful. These easily retail for +200 so I’m assuming the sale price will probably be around $125.

I’ve always loved Lilly’s neutral sweaters and tops, but the prices have always been much too high for me to buy them. These usually retail for around $150+ and I’m not sure of the prices during the sale since I’ve never purchased before, but I’m sure they are significantly lower like with most items. I would love to own one of their sweaters to pair with white jeans or shorts during spring and summer.
